Adler & Allan celebrates dual wins at the UK & Ireland Annual Spill Awards with two prestigious honours

|

Adler & Allan, the industry leader in pollution management and control, has achieved success at the prestigious UK & Ireland Annual Spill Awards, winning in the ‘Inland Responder – Large Incident’ and ‘Sustainability’ categories.

In recognition of its response to a major fire incident at Luton Airport’s Terminal 2 car park on October 10th, 2023, Adler & Allan’s knowledge, experience, and creative thinking was recognised in the Inland Responder – Large Incident category for the delivery of an all-in-one solution that proved that a single expert partner can deliver on every project requirement.

The scale of the fire presented multi-faceted environmental challenges where the client’s ability to maintain continuity of operations was also a critical requirement. The company minimised the environmental, financial, and reputational costs of a significant pollution event through its comprehensive, turnkey solution.

The judges said, this award underscores the company’s commitment to providing unwavering support, from emergency response to ongoing asset care.

Adler & Allan were also recognised in the Sustainability award category. On 26 February 2024, Adler & Allan were called to the emergency clean-up of an estimated 19,000-litre red diesel spill at a site in Chippenham. Caused by a failed underground fuel line, the diesel flowed off-site via a stream, contaminating a River Avon wetland habitat.

Adler & Allan’s approach to containing the situation and addressing the initial contamination demonstrated excellence in delivering effective, sustainable remediation. The swift, sustainability-led solution used responsible transport, remediation, and reinstatement to drastically reduce waste and emissions and restore the site’s fragile ecological balance.

The judges said, this award is a testament to the company’s dedication to environmental stewardship.

Jason Clay, Managing Director of the Environmental Services division, said of the awards: “Over the last 12 months, we have supported customers on an unprecedented volume of pollution management events, each carrying their own complexity and unique challenges. The technical expertise of our people, their commitment to delivering high end solutions, and their unmatched agility in service delivery have once again been acknowledged by the lead industry body.

“The UK & Ireland Annual Spill Awards serve as a platform to recognise excellence and innovation in the field of environmental emergency management, and these awards are testament to the capabilities of our people and their tireless dedication to creating better environmental outcomes.”
