Official Launch of the new Principles of Workplace Health & Wellbeing Leadership
On 24 June, the Tank Storage Association marked the official launch of the Principles of Workplace Health and Wellbeing Leadership at a special event at the House of Lords, hosted by Baroness Brenda Dacres OBE.
The event featured an address from the Minister for Social Security and Disability, Sir Stephen Timms, who highlighted the importance of preventing work-related ill health and working together to create healthier workplaces, support economic growth and raise living standards.
Insightful contributions were also delivered by Jane Lassey, Director of Regulation at the Health and Safety Executive, and the Tank Storage Association’s Chief Executive Officer, Peter Davidson, who shared valuable perspectives on the importance of leadership in workplace health and wellbeing.
The Principles of Workplace Health & Wellbeing Leadership were developed by the Workplace Health & Wellbeing Leadership Working Group, which was established following the Health and Safety Executive’s Prevention 2024 Summit to foster collaboration in the promotion of positive wellbeing at work. The Working Group brought together the Health and Safety Executive and representatives from across the major hazard industry, including the Chemical Business Association, Chemical Industries Association, GMB Union, Grain LNG, National Gas, the Tank Storage Association, Unite the Union and Yorkshire Water.
The launch of the principles reflects a shared commitment to workforce wellbeing and a joint resolve to support cross-industry collaboration through the sharing of best practice and key learnings to drive continuous improvement.
