Tank Storage Association responds to appointment of new Prime Minister

Chief Executive of the Tank Storage Association, Peter Davidson, said: “On behalf of the Tank Storage Association, I would like to extend my congratulations to Andy Burnham MP on his appointment as Prime Minister. As the new Government begins its work, we look forward to engaging constructively with the Prime Minister and his ministers to support a secure, resilient and thriving future for the UK’s bulk storage and energy infrastructure sector.

“We reiterate our call for recognition of the significant contribution of our sector and the innovative capabilities within our industry. Bulk storage and energy infrastructure underpins industrial activity, supports resilient supply chains and enables the efficient movement of essential products, connecting a diverse ecosystem of stakeholders from industrial producers and residential consumers to international traders.

“We look forward to continuing to work in partnership with Government and stakeholders to ensure this vital sector continues to play its full part in driving innovation, supporting resilience and helping to shape the next decades.”

The Tank Storage Association (TSA) represents the interests of around 100 member companies engaged in the storage of bulk liquids and the provision of products and services to the sector. Collectively, its members operate 294 terminals and distribution hubs in the UK and have 10.5 million cubic metres of storage capacity. TSA’s members provide and support an essential interface between sea, road, rail and pipeline logistics for many different substances including transport and heating fuels, chemicals, animal feed and foodstuffs.
